1. I want to enter Texture Style Awards but don’t feel comfortable hiring a photographer and putting together a shoot. Do I need professional photos?
No you do not have to have professional photos. You can take photos of the hairstylists you created on a solid, non distracting background. Ex: solid white or bricks
2. I want to enter Texture Style Awards and try a hair texture I don’t often work with. Do you offer texture based styling classes?
Yes! The Texture Education Series offers live and in person classes teaching how to style each texture of hair specifically to help you feel more confident in styling those textures. VIP tickets come with $250 in professional styling products and tools!
3. Are Texture Education Series classes only open to those who enter Texture Style Awards?
Nope! Anyone interested in attending the live classes and learning about hair texture is welcomed to attend. VIP attendees receive 1 free Texture Style Awards entry.
4. How many categories are in Texture Style Awards?
There are 10 categories entrants can enter.
5. How many times can I enter per category?
You may enter up to 3 times per category.
6. I’ve never entered an award competition, is this for me?
Texture Style Awards is a competition that welcomes new entrants. A strong reason to enter the competition is to have your work reviewed by industry heavy weights, shared throughout industry publications, and to network with top beauty brands celebrity artists.

8. Do I have to choose the hair texture of my model’s natural hair?
No, this competition is focused on your artistry. Judges can only judge your image on the final hair texture created/submitted.
9. How do I decide which category to submit my work?
Choose the hair texture based on the final hair texture in the photo.
10. Can I enter if my model has hair extensions?
Absolutely, use hair extensions as a part of your creative expression.
11. Can I use hair accessories on my model?
Absolutely, feel free to use hair accessories as a part of your creative expression.
12. If I entered the Texture Style Awards previously, can I enter again?
Yes, we are so happy to have you back!
13. I’m in cosmetology school, am I eligible to enter?
Absolutely! We have created two categories specifically for cosmetology students, apprentices, and hairstylists who have worked in the industry for under 2 years! Enter Student: Up Style or Student: Down Style
